Lunch at the New Punch Bowl Social In Stapleton
Our latest field trip was an exciting one; we visited the new Punch Bowl Social which opened in Stapleton in late November. Located where the old Stapleton airport used to be, the Punch Bowl Social has transformed the former airport control tower into a 32,000 square foot trendy, social hang out. (New to Denver, I enjoyed looking at the old images of this area!) Their grand opening on Saturday, November 18, was completely sold-out and when our team visited on the following Monday afternoon, the two-story Punch Bowl Social was abuzz with a large crowd.
We were blown away by the size and overall activity throughout the Punch Bowl Social. The inside, decorated with bright colors and festive decorations for the holidays, consists of six bowling lanes, private karaoke rooms, and a gaming area equipped with ping-pong tables and shuffleboards. This is the Punch Bowl’s first outdoor area, which covers half of the venue’s seating, and also includes fire pits, two regular size bocce boards, and a sand area with seating in shape of fake pontoons.
We were greeted by the friendly staff as soon as we walked in the door and the service remained excellent despite how busy they were. The menu included a multitude of options- I selected the Chicken Pot Pie, a recommend item, which was very delicious. My colleague ordered the Cook’s Salad along with a cup of the Cuban Black Bean Citrus Soup and was not disappointed. Additionally, we were served a complimentary homemade biscuit with strawberry jam, and the waitress offered to give us extra to take home because we enjoyed it so thoroughly! The spectacular service was accompanied by great ambiance for an overall superb experience. What an awesome and exciting addition to Stapleton!
