Denver – a top city for home price gains
When I hear “Denver home prices increased again”, I pay attention, how about you? For homeowners, its comforting to know that one of your largest investments is improving. For sellers, its exciting news to list your house for sale at a higher price. And for home buyers… ouch.
Homeowners in Seattle, Portland and Dallas are the only markets in 20 large metro areas that are seeing higher gains over the last 12 months. Metro Denver’s year-over-year increase in March was 8.4 percent, the 20 large market average was 5.9 percent and the national average was 5.8 percent. For example, the same home valued at $400,000 last year is now worth $433,600. Wow!
