Even though I regularly flossed my teeth and came in for routine cleanings and x-rays, after 40 some years of wear and tear, I needed a crown to replace an old, failing filling. I was scared and disappointed about the diagnoses (I was wondering what I could have done better). Dr. Clair could sense I was nervous about the procedure but assured me she would explain the process step-by-step and be very gentle.
Like most sane people, I was not looking forward to having my tooth drilled down to a nub for a porcelain crown to be placed over it. The morning of my appointment, I did my best to find some inner Zen to calm me and downloaded an uplifting TED Talk to keep my mind occupied during the procedure. Although I envisioned hours of torture in the chair, the whole process took less than 45 minutes from start to finish including getting molds of my teeth made and a temporary plastic crown fitted.
Dr. Clair was so gentle and efficient, I think I actually smiled in disbelief and relief. During the following appointment to install the permanent porcelain crown, things were even easier. The whole session took about 20 minutes and was painless! Her chair-side manner and expertise are the reasons why thousands of Stapleton residents call her their family dentist.
