Stapleton Food Drive Sponsor Spotlight – North American Title
North American Title Company supports the 7th annual Stapleton Community Food Drive, Sept 30th thru October 9th, 2017.
When we work with Stapleton homebuyers or home sellers to help them make their move, we don’t do it alone. Although we help our clients find a home and or a buyer for the home they are selling, negotiate a favorable price and terms and coordinate the transaction, we need a quality tile company to actually perform the closing and transfer the title. And a critical part of this transfer is making sure that the buyer has meaningful title insurance and safeguards.
Michael Chagnon of North American Title offers some insights into what makes a great title company, “I love that the title insurance business is all about people working together to get families into homes. We are serving people through one of the most complex financial processes they will ever engage in, and my goal is to help them understand all aspects of their transaction, as well as protect their funds and their personal information.”
Unfortunately, wire fraud is on the rise and unsuspecting buyers and sellers have been duped by online criminals and have had tens of thousands of dollars stolen when attempting to wire money for the transaction. Michael tells a story about a recent victory against wire fraud: “Recently, one of our customers received new instructions about wiring funds to an account number provided in the email. They were confused because this process had already been set up and confirmed by our Escrow Officer. Fortunately, they shared the email with our Escrow Officer, who knew immediately upon inspecting it that it was fraudulent and prevented what could have been a financial disaster for these customers. I appreciate that we are protectors and guardians for our customers. We protect them at the closing, but more importantly, the title search process and title insurance protects their ownership rights. There are many countries in the world that do not enjoy the secure property rights that we have here, and our security here rests largely on our ability through the title search to make sure no one else has a claim to that property.”
Michael believes that customer service is “one of my key drivers.” But more specifically, he strives “to be very responsive and timely to questions and requests. The title industry is all about the details. I enjoy the daily challenge of responding quickly to resolve the dozens of details it takes to get the homebuyers and sellers to the closing table with a clean closing package.”
North American Title supports the Food Drive because “our responsibility to our community is much more than the work we do here, whether it is building homes or conducting closings, as we do at North American Title. They said we believe in ‘doing the right thing for the right reason.’ This is where we live and work and raise our families. We want to be an integral part of creating the best and most resilient community we can. And that begins with the most basic necessity of making sure there is food on the table for everyone.”
The Stapleton Community Food Drive thanks North American Title Company for supporting the effort to help people suffering from hunger and poor nutrition in the Stapleton and surrounding areas.
